Air Fryer Cilantro Lime Breaded Shrimp

Air fryer shrimp is the best! It cooks so quickly – it’s so crunchy and I’ve made this Cilantro Lime Breaded Shrimp zingy and flavorful! Every bite packs a citrusy punch!
 
I love using my air fryer for every different kind of fish – I’ve tried so many – but I knew this cilantro lime shrimp was going to be my favorite! 
 

How do you cook shrimp in the air fryer?

First, I like to cook with raw shrimp – shrimp cooks so quickly – so I like to use raw. Cooked shrimp is a short cut that’s not really necessary – unless you’re eating shrimp cocktail – then go for the cooked. 
 
Making shrimp in the air fryer can be done any number of ways – you can marinate it ahead of time and make it unbreaded – like I did with fish in this fish taco recipe. You could also wrap it in bacon – cuz that’s always a great option – like this Jalapeno Popper Bacon Wrapped Shrimp!  Or keep reading and do this delicious Cilantro Lime Panko Breaded Shrimp! 

How long do you cook shrimp in an air fryer?

No matter which way you make it – it shouldn’t take any more than 8 minutes.
 

I love popcorn shrimp! This is a variation on that – but I like to use the larger shrimp – cuz why not?! Air fryer breaded shrimp is super easy to make – it’s just a matter of breading in flour – then egg – then panko! 


I zinged up my popcorn shrimp by adding cilantro and lime juice to the egg dip – then using a Cilantro Lime Panko. It’s so good!! Then I served it with a salsa verde and a spicy ranch dipping duo! 

These breaded shrimp in the air fryer are a perfect base for Shrimp Tacos too!  All you need to do is gather your taco fixin’s – like tortillas, shredded cabbage, queso fresco, avocado and pico de gallo – and you’re good!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag extra large raw shrimp peeled, deveined, tail off
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro diced
  • 2 limes juiced
  • 1 package cilantro lime panko bread crumbs or regular

Instructions
 

  • rinse shrimp and pat dry
    1 bag extra large raw shrimp
  • set up breading stations:
    – flour
    – egg – cilantro – juice from one lime – mix together with fork
    – panko
    1/3 cup flour, 2 eggs, 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, 1 package cilantro lime panko bread crumbs, 2 limes
  • dredge shrimp in flour
  • move from flour to egg mixture – be sure to coat all sides so no flour is showing
  • then move to panko and coat all sides
  • place in air fryer and spray with olive oil spray
  • air fry at 350 for 4 minutes
  • turn shrimp and spray again with olive oil
  • air fry at 350 for 4 minutes
