Air Fryer Salmon Cakes are delicious and so simple! My dad used to make salmon patties all the time – but this recipe is so much tastier! It’s also got a kick to it with a secret ingredient!

I also didn’t use canned salmon for this recipe – now you can definitely do that – but fresh salmon is so much better! It only takes 10 min to cook salmon in the air fryer so it was quick and easy!

How do you make salmon cakes in the air fryer?
The first step is actually cooking your salmon – if you’re not using canned. I took one pound of salmon sliced in half and brushed it with my secret ingredient – and then in the air fryer for 10 minutes. Perfect – every time!
After the salmon cools a bit, place in a bowl and shred with two forks into more bite-sized pieces. From there – it’s secret ingredient time! Grab your Rothschild Farms Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce and add it to your salmon! You’ll also add a bit of mayo and panko. Stir and then make the salmon mixture into patties.
Once you have the patties formed, you’ll add them to your air fryer. Now since your salmon is already cooked – they only need about 10 minutes in the air fryer. This is a perfect time to add in veggies and cook them all together! I made these salmon patties with air fryer zucchini.

What can I make with Rothschild Farms Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce?
I absolutely love Rothschild Farms products – you can find them at gourmet shops as well as their online store. The Roasted Pineapple and Habanero Sauce is their #1 seller! It’s a sweet and spicy sauce – and so tasty – but definitely has a kick! It’s really versatile!

I used about 1/3 of a bottle in these salmon cakes – so what to do with the rest? The easiest is to pour it over cream cheese and serve with crackers – it’s a super quick appetizer! You can also use it as a glaze on chicken or fish – anytime. You can even pour it on top of vanilla ice cream!
Or if you like shrimp – my friend Kelly created this great recipe for One Pot Shrimp & Quinoa using the sauce too!

I really like these salmon cakes because they’re light – most of them are heavy with lots of mayo and breadcrumbs – this is more about the sauce. Now the sauce does have a kick to it – so if you don’t love spicy – do less sauce and more mayo. I amped up the spicy and used Sweet & Spicy Panko Breadcrumbs. Wooo!
