Enjoying a BLT on a Bagel is now one of my favorite sandwiches! An Everything Bagel loaded with meaty smoky bacon, crispy lettuce and tomato – PLUS a delicious bacon scallion cream cheese to bring it all together to be the ULTIMATE BLT SANDWICH!

What You Will ❤️ About BLT on a Bagel
- BLT – it’s a BLT – what’s not to love? Bacon is the best!
- Double Bacon – cuz if you’re eating bacon – you always want more so we also have it in the cream cheese!
- Easy to Make! It’s a BLT with just another couple of steps – but they’re worth it!

Ingredients for a BLT Bagel Sandwich
Simple ingredients make up this double bacon delicious sandwich! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Bagels – I used Everything Bagels for maximum flavor – but use what you like. I really like Lenders Egg Bagels – I just can’t find them!
- and if you like Everything Bagel – you can even do a Everything Bagel cream cheese like this Everything But The Bagel Dip
- Cooked bacon – I love bacon so much – for this I made it in the oven because it’s easy and less mess. I like my bacon bendy – but you can make crispy bacon if that’s what you like.
- Tomato – nothing is better than the slice of a fresh tomato! Fancy it up with heirloom tomatoes if you like!
- Green leaf lettuce leaves – I like to buy that “Living Lettuce” – it lasts longer! You can also use iceberg, red leaf lettuce or romaine lettuce.
- Softened cream cheese – we’re going to make our own bacon scallion cream cheese! How fun is that?!
- Diced scallions or chives – these are for the cream cheese mixture

Recipe Variations
You think a BLT is a pretty standard sandwich – but you can make some tweaks to make it just how you like it! Here are a few ideas:
- Add fried egg – I love the squish of a runny fried egg and even more in a sandwich!
- Swap cream cheese – Ditch the cream cheese for a more traditional option like mayonnaise
- Add avocado slices – like a fried egg, any sandwich is better with ripe avocado slices!
- Add cheese – a thin slice of cheddar cheese would also be delicious on the sandwich

How to make a Bagel BLT Sandwich
A classic BLT is easy to make but we’re going to take it to the next level with the cream cheese that is a copycat from Bruegger’s Bagels! Here’s how to make it:
- Toast the bagel to your desired liking and cook bacon to your liking.
- On a cutting board, chop two pieces bacon and mix with softened cream cheese and diced scallions.
- Spread cream cheese spread on each side of bagel.
- Layer on lettuce, tomato and 2 slices of bacon.
- OPTIONAL: sprinkle a touch of coarse sea salt & black pepper on the tomato
- Close sandwich, slice in half with a serrated knife and serve with chips!

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
For this its really best to store extra ingredients separately – so just put the cream cheese in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Bacon is best in a ziploc bag and reheat in air fryer or microwave when ready to use.
Of course! Any kind of bacon will work for this recipe.
