There are 7 locations here in the Cincinnati area – some of my favorite things about Freddy’s are:

- Hamburger – 85/15
- Seasoning Salt – Freddy’s uses their own seasoning salt – but you can also use Lawry’s
Freddy’s Steakburger Options
The menu at Freddy’s has lots of options – especially for their Steakburgers. Here are some different ways to top these delicious burgers!
- A1 Steakburger – The recipe below has all the ingredients to make their A1 Steakburger – it’s loaded with sautéd mushrooms & onions, white cheddar and a delicious A1 Steakhouse sauce!
- Original Double – two patties, American cheese, mustard, onion & pickles
- California Style – two patties, whole onion slice, Thousand Island dressing, lettuce & tomato
- Jalapeno Pepper Jack Double – two patties, pepper jack cheese, sautéd jalapeno slices, Freddy’s spicy Jalapeno fry sauce
How to make Freddy’s Steakburger Recipe
The easiest and best way to make a Freddy’s Burger is by using a griddle – whether it’s an indoor electric or a Blackstone. You also need a thin metal spatula to smash the edges of the burger just like they do at Freddy’s!
- Divide beef into four 1/4 lb patties
- Heat griddle to high heat setting
- Add patties to the griddle and space them far apart
- Sprinkle all burgers with Seasoning Salt
- Smash steakburgers! On the first side, roll the spatula around the edges of the burger patties – putting pressure on the edges of the burger. You’re leaving the middle thicker. Thin edges = cripsy edge, thicker middle = juicy burger!
- Flip the burgers and sprinkle more seasoning mixture on top.
- Keep smashing to get those crispy edges with the back of the spatula
- Add slice of cheese to each patty and melt for 1 minute – you can place a cookie sheet or a pan lid over top of the cheese to help it melt
- Toast hamburger bun on the griddle for 1 minute

Burger FAQs
I saw it first hand – their special seasoning is their own Freddy’s fry seasoning – which is pretty similar to Lawry’s seasoning salt with salt, garlic salt, onion powder, sugar, paprika, turmeric & black pepper.
Pretty much – yes. They taught me how to smash it all around the edges as it cooks on a griddle.
I’ve got the Freddy’s Fry Sauce recipe! It’s a combo of mayo, ketchup, pickle juice & seasoning salt and is perfect for dipping those Freddy’s fries into!
Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or in the air fryer at 250º for 4-5 minutes.
