So when I drove the other way – towards Goshen – I was happy to come across the Double J Cafe. It’s a cute little yellow building and they have a nice logo (I work in marketing – I notice those things) – so I wanted to stop by.
It took a few months for me to find the occasion and find them open – they’re closed Sunday & Monday. Here’s a shot of their Saturday breakfast menu – they also have lunch items. I was set on breakfast – my friend Dawn was set on lunch so it was perfect for us.
Dawn got pulled pork with macaroni & cheese. Unfortunately she said it really didn’t have much flavor and she didn’t care for it.
I went for breakfast – which requires many plates – first pancakes – they were fine.
Then I got a side of gravy – if there’s sausage gravy – I have to try it. Unfortunately I didn’t care for it. It was a bit gloppy and not creamy.
Then I got eggs, bacon and potatoes – these were fine – the bacon was great. The atmosphere is nice – it’s very cute and clean and modern (Music Cafe is the opposite – old, dark and very dated).
Why Should You Go: Well – we enjoyed eating in the Double J – but we didn’t really enjoy the food too much. 🙁
I'd say give it another go. Their new location is booming! Friday night fish fry is really good, and I'm a bit of a fish fry snob.
Yes!!! I've been to the new location multiple times!!! I get it carryout frequently – and oooh fish fry! I might need that!
